SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES, SEX TRADE AND SOLUTIONS

Sexually transmitted diseases is now on the increase globally. Many men and women are being infected daily with STDs (sexually transmitted diseases). A disturbing trend is the high number of people said to be living with the human immune virus (HIV ) Hiv presently have no known cure. Cost of Medical Treatment for STDs is at a very high rate.

Another worrying trend is that teenagers and other young people are increasing becoming infected with sexually transmitted diseases. A number of young people are said to be infected with Chlamydia, gonorrhea, e-coli etc  The sex industry seems to be responsible for this worldwide problem. This is because most people got infected during holidays, vacation etc and they spread this infection to their partner.
Sex trade is a booming business in South East Asia countries such as India, Bangladesh, Sri lanka, Thailand, Indonesia, Burma etc It is equally the sex trade that has increased the number of people said to be infected with one form of sexually transmission diseases. Many young girls are introduced to sex at an early age as a result of family poverty, broken homes etc.
Africa is also a grooming ground for the sex trade. Many young girls have been forced to abandon education for prostitution. Many family are even encourage their daughters to go into prostitution because they feel they can survive this way. There are tales of young girls being sponsored to go abroad to engage in prostitution.

STEPS FOR FIGHTING THE SEX TRADE

EDUCATION
Young girls should be encouraged to pursue education. The government and private body should introduce scholarship for young girls. Girls can also be trained on other vocational skills such as hair dressing, catering, music, secretarial skills, etc

RE-ORIENTATION FOR YOUNG GIRLS
Young girls should be given adequate information on the dangers that lies with engaged in sex such as the health risk pose by sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies.

THE ROLE OF RELIGIOUS BODIES
Religious bodies such as churches, mosques, etc should preach the culture of abstainance for our young men and women. The should know that it is a sin to defile the body.

THE ROLE OF PARENTS
The home is the first moral grooming ground for the child. Therefore, parents most especially should take up the responsibility of bringing up their children in a decent way.

THE ROLE OF GOVERNMENT
Government responsibility is to take care of the citizen by creating a conducive environment for the people to realize their potential.  Therefore, government around the world must take up the challenge to provide employments for the citizenry. If there is gainful employment for all and sundry I think people will not engage in such an acts in the scale it is going at the moment.

THE ROLE OF CONDOM
The use of Condom should be promoted by the mass media . Sexually active people and the entire population should be encouraged to use condom. Condom has help me countries to reduce their infection rates.
CARE FOR INFECTED PEOPLE
Infected people should be adequately catered for to reduce the pain they suffer. And to prevent them from spreading the infections to their loved ones and partner.

LEGISLATIONS
Governmental bodies around the world including the labour industry must create an enabling environment to protect people said to be infected with HIV from being discriminated at their place of work.
In conclusion, if the above measures is put in place. It will go a long way in making this planet earth a better place for the human race. Safe sex should be promoted by all and sundry.
